Could you hot foot it to raise funds for charity?

The Bridge Homelessness to Hope charity is looking for brave individuals and groups to volunteer for a fantastic fundraising firewalk event on 7 December 2018 at Sainsbury’s, Glen Road, Oadby in Leicestershire.

The firewalk is a bare foot walk over red-hot wood embers, measuring around 800 degrees Fahrenheit. The charity is looking for brave volunteers and generous sponsors for the event. People can register their interest with [email protected]

On the night, training will be provided from 7.30pm and the firewalk will start at 8.30pm.

Steve Owen, Chair of The Bridge Homelessness to Hope said: “The firewalk is one of our major fundraising events for the year and we’re delighted that Sainsbury’s has agreed to host again. However, we now need some fearless volunteers to put themselves forward and help us to raise these vital funds to help us to support the city’s homeless community.”

The Bridge Homelessness to Hope recently won a public vote to become the Local Charity of the Year for Sainsbury’s Glen Road store in Oadby for the second consecutive year. Last year, the Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year initiative supported events such as a sponsored firewalk and helped to raise over £3,200 for the charity.

Debbie Guttridge, Store Manager from Sainsbury’s Glen Road added: “Sainsbury’s are extremely proud to host such fantastic event for such a worthwhile cause. We hope to bring to the forefront of all our customers and colleagues attentions, just how incredibly hard this charity works and what a difference just a little understanding can achieve.”
