Bhavna Hughes climbed to the Everest Base Camp in aid of The Bridge Homelessness to Hope.
In May, Bhavna Hughes took the plunge and climbed to the Everest Base Camp in Nepal to raise money for The Bridge Homelessness to Hope.
In the run up to her trip, Bhavna's training was in full swing, and she was doing three boot camps a week to build her strength for the strenuous climb.
"This is something I have wanted to do for years and time is passing by, so it is now or never."
After flying into the picturesque village of Lukla, Bhavna began the 5,300 meter ascent to Everest's base camp with her friend and several other climbers, stopping at several points to acclimatise themselves to the high altitude. The climb itself took a total of nine days to complete.
With tremendous support from her family and friends, Bhavna raised an incredible £7000 for charities local to her, including The Bridge Homelessness to Hope and Vista.
The money raised for The Bridge Homelessness to Hope will help the charity continue their day centre services which support people who are experiencing homelessness in Leicester.
"Trip of a lifetime! Everest base camp mission accomplished, absolutely stunning vistas, very humbled to have the opportunity to achieve this!"
We would like to say a massive thank you to Bhavna for all of your incredible effort with your climb and fundraisers. You are amazing!
