Last week we had the pleasure of hosting Fusion Blend Catering at The Bridge, a Leicester based catering business. Sejal & Piyush Thanki and the team at Fusion Blend Catering volunteered for the day to cook for over 70 guests, making so much food that many were able to come back for seconds.
When asked what had inspired them to join The Bridge and help they said:
When we decided to cater lunch for homeless people, our motivations were deeply rooted in compassion and a desire to make a positive impact. We have faced struggles recently too and have come through some tough times. Because of this we wanted to give back.
We recognised that homelessness affects real people with unique stories and struggles. By providing a warm meal, we hoped to show empathy and kindness, reminding them that they are not forgotten.
A meal shared in a welcoming environment can restore dignity. It’s a simple act that communicates respect and acknowledges their humanity. We wanted to treat every person we served with utmost respect and compassion.
Providing a meal isn’t just about sustenance, it’s about hope. We believed that even a single warm lunch could change someone’s day, offering a glimmer of hope and a moment of respite from their challenges.
Guests enjoyed the food so much they returned to the kitchen to share their thanks and gratitude. It was truly a pleasure to work with Fusion Blend Catering and we hope to have the opportunity to do so again, soon.
