Help Us Fund Our Wellbeing Projects!

At The Bridge we offer multiple activities and classes to our guests for free, all which help to improve mental wellbeing in one way or another. Currently we have music sessions, art workshops, and cooking classes on a weekly basis. We aim to continue providing these Wellbeing Projects, as well as starting a couple of new ones.

The benefits of these projects are numerous; having somewhere to go every week and meet up with people helps to fight the loneliness often experienced by people who are either homeless or living vulnerably. We offer a safe space for people to learn new skills and crafts, build their confidence, develop teamwork and communication skills, and engage with others socially.

The new activities we are looking to add to our Wellbeing Projects are boxing, and football. A lot of our guests have disorders such as ADHD where they experience a lot of pent up energy and find it hard to keep still. Physical activities will not only help with this, but will also promote a healthy lifestyle and support mental wellbeing.

However, to continue these activities and start the new ones we need to continue funding them. That’s where our new Crowdfunder campaign comes in! Until the first of November anyone can find our Crowdfunder campaign, learn about the Wellbeing Projects we provide, share the link, and donate. We’ve also been very lucky to have been approved by the Aviva Matching Fund, meaning that any pledge made to the campaign will be matched up to £250.

Check out the video below to see what we’re working towards:

We also have stretch goals put in place for our campaign. If we’re lucky enough to reach our target early and still have time to take donations, we’ll use the extra funding for maintenance of the spaces our activities take place in, and to provide extra equipment that may be needed. Keep an eye on our campaign page to see our activity shopping lists go up in the Updates page.
