International Women's Day Celebrations at The Bridge

In partnership with Action Homeless, The Bridge Homelessness to Hope hosted their latest Women’s group on Tuesday 8th March, in celebration of International Women’s Day!

The event, held at The Bridge Homelessness to Hope, was a chance to bring women, who are facing homelessness in Leicester, together for an afternoon of activities, food and good conversation in a women’s only space.

Around 20 women from the Leicester community came together for the IWD event to feast on a beautiful spread, prepared by The Bridge and delicious cupcakes which had been kindly donated by The Skylark Bakery in Leicester.

Guests were also given goody bags, made up of donations kindly gifted by NEXT and ASDA (pictured above).

The theme for this year's International Women's Day was 'Break the Bias'; a theme which resonated with many of the guests in attendance who wore purple; a colour which has representing International Women's Day.

"It was amazing to see so many women together, enjoying spending time with each other. The event was a great success and a chance for us all to celebrate the inspirational women of Leicester."

Emma Smart, Volunteer Coordinator

at The Bridge.
